At the Center for Digital Business, we’re rethinking how students prepare for a tech-driven future—not just by teaching tools, but by developing leaders. Based in Howard University’s School of Business, the Center empowers students of all majors to build digital skills, gain real-world experience, and lead with confidence in today’s innovation economy.
Our programming centers around five future-forward learning areas:
We deliver these experiences through a three-pronged model:
1. Events & Programs – Our high-impact initiatives like BisonHacks, MeccaTech, and the Digital Literacy Project bring students into conversation with industry, technology, and each other.
2. Classroom Support – We partner with faculty and industry to design capstone-style projects that center on experiential learning and deliver résumé-worthy outcomes. These real-world collaborations give students the chance to work on live business challenges and build portfolio-ready work.
3. Faculty Development – We support professors by providing access to emerging tools, externship-style learning opportunities, and curated professional development that helps them confidently integrate digital innovation into their teaching.
We also cultivate student leadership through our Strategic Operations Team, a selective cohort of student leaders who help manage partnerships, communications, events and data strategy. These students gain high-value experience while shaping how the Center supports the wider student body.
