Why Do We Do This? It’s an opportunity to rally the entire Moses Brown community—alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends—to support the Moses Brown Fund. Gifts raised during the 1784-Minute Challenge help cover the costs of education programs, scholarships, faculty development, and facility improvements.
Can I specify how my donation is used? The 1784-Minute Challenge focuses on raising funds for the Moses Brown Fund, which supports all aspects of the student experience. You can direct your gift to four specific areas within the Moses Brown Fund: Area of Greatest Need, Scholarships, Academic Excellence, and Beyond the Classroom.
Is there a minimum donation amount? No, participation is what truly counts during the 1784-Minute Challenge.
Maybe You’re Asking Yourself, “Why Should I Give?” Contributions made during the 1784-Minute Challenge account for nearly 30% of the Moses Brown Fund's total annual donations.
Is my donation tax-deductible? Yes, all donations to Moses Brown School are tax-deductible to the extent law allows. If you donate online, you will immediately receive a receipt via email, which you can use for tax purposes. If you make your gift by check, cash, or stock transfer, a tax receipt will be mailed to your home.
Who can participate in the Day of Giving? Everyone in the MB community is invited to participate and make an impact, including alumni, parents, grandparents, students, faculty, staff, and friends of the school.
Will I hear about the impact of my gift? Yes, we provide updates on how Moses Brown Fund contributions are used throughout the year through email communications and stories on our website. Also, you are always welcome to reach out to the Advancement Office for an update.
