What is the Heron Fund? 

These funds help to fund a multitude of initiatives at the school such as:

• Field Trips (Cultural Excursion Day, Bay Studies)
• Competitions & Conferences (Robotics, Mock Trial, Model UN)
• Special celebrations (Earth Day, In Celebration of Books, Graduation)
• Capital expenses (New bleachers in the gym, a new score board)
• Rainy Day Fund for Unexpected Costs (Tree limb removal after a storm)

What the Heron Fund pays for varies from year to year depending on the school's needs, but ensuring we have the resources is critical to the Gunston Experience.

What if I have already made a gift this year, and would like to honor my senior? If you have already made a gift this year and would like to dedicate it to a graduating senior or someone who has helped them along the way, please email jmatthews@gunston.org.

Is my gift tax deductible? Yes, your gift to The Gunston School is tax deductible. You will receive a tax receipt from the School soon after making your gift. The Gunston School's tax identification number is 52-0614282.

If I have two (or more!) students at Gunston, does one gift count for participation in both grades? Yes! One gift will count for participation in across all grades associated with your family. 

Can my employer match my gift? Many corporations will match employee charitable contributions up to two times the value of the gift. Speak with someone in your Human Resources Office to see if you company participates in the matching gift program. The Advancement Office is also happy to help you decide if you work for a matching gift company.
