Arch and Connie Hoxton Challenge

Alumni Arch ’64 and Connie are long-time donors and supporters of Lees-McRae. While at Lees-McRae, Arch majored in Pre-Forestry and served as the captain of the football team his senior year, and Connie—who attended Lees-McRae for one year in 1964—was named to the Hearts Court and studied to be a medical records librarian. At 100 donors, we will unlock a $6,000 gift from the Hoxtons to The Legacy Campaign.

Warren Hudson Challenge

Warren Hudson is currently a member of the Board of Trustees. He has committed to give $10,000 to The Legacy Campaign when we hit 200 donors.

Alumni Board Challenge

The Alumni Board represents all Lees-McRae alumni and ensures Bobcats stay connected to the college and each other long after graduation. This year, the members of the Alumni Board have pledged to give $5,000 to The Legacy Campaign.

Whalen Foundation Challenge

The Whalen family have been strong supporters of Lees-McRae College for over four decades. They have made lead-gifts to several campaigns throughout those years as well as annual gifts to Theatre Arts and other areas, including The Whalen Foundation Grant to Support Faculty Development. The Whalen’s daughter, Patricia Hawley, continues to honor the Whalen legacy again this year with a $10,000 contribution from The SJ and Mildred Whalen Foundation in support of The Legacy Campaign. This generous gift will be unlocked when we reach the 400 donor mark.

SkyLine/SkyBest Challenge

The local telecommunications company is a generous supporter of many worthy causes and organizations, and Lees-McRae is proud to be among that number. Their $2,000 donation to The Legacy Campaign will be unlocked at 500 gifts.

FORUM Challenge

FORUM is a music series held each summer at Lees-McRae. It was organized in 1979 by a group of summer Banner Elk residents who wanted to bring more opportunities for cultural enrichment to the area. This year, the FORUM Board of Directors has pledged to give $40,000 to The Legacy Campaign
