Lees-McRae and the local community continue to heal in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene this past fall. Our students and campus community have received incredible support, yet their need continues. Here are two ways your support can create an impact:

The Hurricane Helene Scholarship Fund—Less than eight months ago, families, homes, jobs, businesses—life’s foundations—that supported many students seemed secure. For too many students, the lives they knew were swept away by Hurricane Helene, including their financial ability to pursue or complete their education. While the people of this region have rallied together to recover and recreate their lives, the long-term impact on students in the disaster areas becomes clearer each day. You can help ensure that students who are at high risk of having their academic goals derailed can reclaim their dreams by earning a degree from Lees-McRae.

The Fund for Lees-McRae—The college’s unrestricted fund plays a crucial role in supporting the college in both good and challenging times. Through the last year, gifts to The Fund for Lees-McRae provided critical operating dollars to help the college continue its work despite significant losses due to Hurricane Helene. Gifts helped sustain the college as it charted unknown waters, lived out its mission, and made difficult financial decisions in order to best serve students and its employees. The Fund for Lees-McRae also allows the college to look to a stronger tomorrow, where it can thrive as it reimagines its future. Through your generosity, the college will have the flexibility to meet immediate student needs, enhance academic programs, and rebuild campus operations.

While you are able to designate your giving to the fund of your choice, we're asking that you consider supporting one of the following two above priorities this Giving Day.
