Why a Senior Parent Gift?

The Senior Parent Gift effort is a cherished Moses Brown tradition offering families of graduating seniors a meaningful way to honor their child’s experiences. This special imitative enables families to give back, creating a lasting legacy that reflects their values and priorities. Contributions support vital initiatives—including The Moses Brown Fund, scholarships, and facility improvements—ensuring that current and future students continue to enjoy the same exceptional opportunities that have shaped the Class of 2025.

Our goal is 100% parent participation.  Why is this important?

Participation is at the heart of the Senior Parent Gift effort because it transforms the gift into a collective tribute that reflects the unity and spirit of the Class of 2025. When every family contributes—at a level that feels right for them—it reflects a shared belief in the value of a Moses Brown education and its lasting impact on our children. High participation from senior parents inspires other families to join in, amplifying the legacy of this meaningful tradition.

I supported The 1784-Minute Challenge earlier this year.  Should I make an additional gift to the Class of 2025 Senior Parent Gift?

We hope you will! While gifts made by senior families during the 1784-Minute Challenge are included in the Class of 2025 Senior Parent Gift participation and total funds raised, we encourage you to consider an additional contribution.   This is a special opportunity to honor  your senior's experience and celebrate the Class of 2025 with a thoughtful gesture of support.

Can I use my child’s tuition deposit as all or a portion of my Senior Parent Gift?

Yes! Families can choose to contribute all or a portion of the tuition deposit they made when their child enrolled at MB—typically $1,000. Donating your deposit is an easy and thoughtful way to contribute to the Senior Parent Gift effort while honoring your child’s MB journey. To do so, you will need to sign a pledge form to document your intentions. Please note that not all families have a tuition deposit, so we encourage you to reach out to Perry Buroker in MB's Advancement Office, if you’re unsure about this option. Whether you choose to give the full deposit or a portion of it, your contribution will help celebrate the Class of 2025 and help ensure future students benefit from the exceptional experiences that define Moses Brown.

I am interested in establishing a family legacy and/or naming a space in honor of my family’s experience at Moses Brown, is that possible?

Absolutely!  Families can create named endowed funds that support scholarship, TRIPs, Athletics, or the Arts. Establishing a new endowed fund requires a minimum commitment of $25,000, which is payable over five years. If this might be of interest to your family, we encourage you to reach out to the Advancement Office to discuss this opportunity further.  Additionally, there are opportunities to name spaces at the Stadium and in the Lower School.

If I make a multi-year pledge to Moses Brown this year (by June 30), will the total amount of my pledge count toward the Senior Parent Gift?

Yes, absolutely! The total value of all gifts and pledges made by senior parents during this fiscal year (ending June 30) will count toward the Class of 2025 Senior Parent Gift. A multi-year pledge not only offers sustained support for Moses Brown’s mission but also enhances the impact and recognition of your commitment. It’s a powerful way to honor your graduate, celebrate the Class of 2025, and contribute to the school’s ongoing ability to inspire and empower future generations of students.

Why should I direct my Senior Parent Gift to the Moses Brown Fund?

The Moses Brown Fund should be a top priority for your Senior Parent Gift because it directly supports every aspect of the MB student experience. The Moses Brown Fund—MB’s annual fund—fuels the school’s ability to remain dynamic, innovative, and inspiring. Every gift made by senior parents this year will be counted toward the Class of 2025 Senior Parent Gift, amplifying its collective impact.

I can’t make a large gift. Does my participation still matter?

Absolutely! This Senior Parent Gift is about celebrating the entire Class of 2025, and we want the Senior Parent Gift to reflect contributions from all families. Participation is our top priority because it symbolizes our collective appreciation for the MB experience and the strength of our community. We recognize the financial sacrifices families make to provide an MB education and encourage each family to contribute in a way that feels meaningful and generous within their means. Every gift, regardless of size, makes a difference and is deeply appreciated.

I’m not sure where to direct my gift. What do you recommend?

We recommend directing your gift to The Moses Brown Fund, as it has the broadest and most immediate impact on the entire MB community. This fund directly supports students, teachers, and every aspect of the school’s programs, ensuring a dynamic and inspiring experience for all.

I prefer to support something other than The Moses Brown Fund? What are other school priorities?

Other key priorities include The Doc Odell Track Renovation & Revitalization project, the Endowed Senior Class Scholarship Fund, and the general TRIPs Endowment Fund. If you are interested in learning more about these or other endowment initiatives, please contact Perry Buroker at pburoker@mosesbrown.org.

Can I support more than one priority with my gift?

Yes! One option to is to split your gift split between The Moses Brown Fund - which has a broad impact - and one of the key priorities: The Doc Odell Track Renovation & Revitalization project, the Endowed Senior Class Scholarship Fund, or the general TRIPs Endowment Fund.
