What is Give a Hoot?

Give a Hoot is a 24 hour challenge to raise $55,000 on April 6. This is a campaign where we’re challenging Westfield State University alumni, students, parents, friends, faculty, and staff to come together to give to the WSU campaign YOU care about the most. There will be opportunities to unlock challenge gifts as we meet certain milestones or match your donation dollar for dollar. When we rally together, we prove what’s possible every day!

Do I have to wait to make a gift on April 6?

We’d love to count you in for Give a Hoot! Make your gift early at westfield.ma.edu/give and share with your network on April 6 to increase the impact of your support.

Can I send my gift in via the mail? 

Give a Hoot is a time limited giving campaign, we strongly encourage you to make your gift online at westfield.ma.edu/give. However, if your check is received by April 13 with "Give a Hoot" in the memo, it will also be counted as part of the overall challenge results. 

To complete your gift by mail, please enclose a cashier's check or personal check payable to: "Westfield State Foundation, Inc." In the check's memo, please list the fund you would like to support.  Examples include: Westfield Fund, Scholarship (include name of scholarship), Athletics Owl Club, etc.

Is there a gift minimum to count towards the Give a Hoot challenges?

No! Gifts of all sizes will count toward our goals for Give a Hoot. We’re aiming to get members of the WSU community to participate with a gift, so we encourage you to share the challenge within your WSU network. Some challenges count gifts made toward specific funds or other criteria. When you make your gift online you will be able to see what challenges your gift will count towards!

I already made a gift earlier this year. Will that count?

Thank you for supporting Westfield State University this year! For this challenge we are counting gifts specifically for Give a Hoot. If you would like to support the challenge, we encourage you to make an additional token gift at westfield.ma.edu/give on April 6.
