About

Pembroke believes it is vital to ensure that our world-class education is available to all those with the academic ability and potential. We use an academically intensive, subject-driven programme to inspire, stretch and challenge those who take part, particularly those from disadvantaged and non-traditional university application backgrounds. This is delivered through a network of seven hub schools across London, the North East and the North West, reaching over 70 schools and collaborating with over a dozen UK higher education institutions, charities, and third-sector organisations.

Over 400 motivated Sixth Formers every year participate in seminars, lectures, courses and the annual Access Week at Pembroke. Through this they are are encouraged to think about and engage with subjects they may not have considered studying, and to raise their academic attainment and aspirations. The work undertaken by Pembroke and others has had a tangible impact on applications and admissions to Oxford (and other Russell-Group Universities), as well as on subject diversity.

We also place great value on developing links with teachers and providing them with support and useful resources that benefits all of the students they teach, not just those involved in the programme.
